Abstract Beyond weight loss, long-term weight loss maintenance remains challenging. The relevant strategies to reach that goal and the characteristics of those who can apply them successfully are yet not well understood. This article aims at summarizing the current knowledge on this topic to help health care professionals in their role in assisting patients in a weight loss maintenance phase.
